The Blade is a high speed canopy exclusively for very experienced pilots with at least 700 jumps on high speed parachutes. By the development of a completely new profile with the Blade, the recommended wing loadings range from 1.8 to 2.2 pounds per square foot. By greatly reducing the drag, the Blade flies at substantially higher forward speed than other similarly-sized canopies. Further, we shifted the ventilation of the cells downward, enhancing airfoil pressurization so that it is virtually impossible to collapse.
During full glide the Blade reacts to toggle input very quickly, which makes it extremely responsive. With gentle application of brakes sinking is drastically reduced, but forward speed remains very high. A large control range, aggressive turns and very long Swoops are the result.
The Blade is fitted with proven Technora lines (also called HMA). It is available in sizes 58 to 120 sq.ft. Prior to purchasing the 58 or 68 size, proof of experience and strict recoommendations are absolutely required.
The Blade comes equipped with soft connector links, brass slider grommets, and 200 kg Technora lines. 750 kg Technora is utilized for the control lines.
Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for custom color order delivery.
Additional Information
Winglets:
The Winglets, which are attached to the upper surface of the canopy, add stability in several ways. Inspired by airplanes and paragliders, we transferred this technology to our canopies. They provide for better recovery from steep carving turns, and improve directional control during cross-wind landings. They also help to prevent the diving effect of line twists that is often associated with eliptical canopies.
Leading Edge:
The leading is attached spanwise as a single piece of fabric to the upper surface of the canopy. The lower edge is fastened to each rib by small tapes. In test jumps this type of leading edge has proven to effectively stabilized the canopy during the landing flare.
Profile:
The profile (or rib shape) of the canopy is designed to provide optimal lift. Airflow separation is effected very late and is extremely good natured. The pilot will not experience the typical
