 | | | Rigs & Things Paraservice offers a sales and service organization that caters to the skydiving community. We also offer a wide range of military systems as well as pilot emergency parachutes. Please contact us for the latest.
One of the duties which we enjoy most is the privilege of welcoming new skydivers to our vast selection of skydiving equipment. It sure can be frustrating and confusing with all the new stuff out there to choose from. We take every person's requests very seriously, and we will follow up with the best personalized service and recommendations we can possibly give.
Rigs & Things was founded by Roy Torgeirson. Roy made his first jump on July 4th., 1974, back in his home country of Norway. He was very proud to be part of the first ever 10 way Club formation in that country, and the first family four way team, most of the jumpers with chest mounted reserves and round parachutes.
Roy was very active in the mid 70's to the early 80's. He received his Norwegian D-187 in 1979.
He held club office as President in the northernmost Parachute club in the world, Kirkenes, from 1977 to 1981. The place is only about 10 miles from the Russian border and they could look over to Russia when climbing to altitude in the Cessna 172, with no door, frozen stiff and blue in the face. Needless to say, the season was kind of short. However, in the summer months with the midnight sun, there was no such thing as a sunset load.
Roy moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1984. He is a Certified USPA Tandem Instructor Examiner, AFF and Static Line Instructor, S&TA, Pro Rating holder, and a certified FAA Senior Rigger.
Roy's brother, Terry, was also actively jumping for many years and was Roy's mentor and jumping buddy. Terry died from cancer in August 2007. At least seven family members have made tandems.
Every member of the staff are AFF, Tandem Instructors and/or Senior Riggers.
French jumper Anne-Laure Touron joined as a business partner in 2002. She is a USPA certified Coach Course Examiner, AFF, Tandem and Static Line Instructor, Pro Rating holder, and is also a certified FAA Senior Rigger.
